KetoCal® Green Pepper and Tomato Soup (MAD)

This recipe is for patients following a modified Atkins diet (MAD). MAD should only be done under medical supervision. Always consult with your health care professional to ensure a recipe is appropriate for your prescribed diet. 

Household measurements are based on the USDA values for grams in household measurements. All nutritional values are calculated in ketocalculator using the household measurement’s corresponding gram weight.

  3 Tbsp. tomatoes, canned, diced (46g)
  30 mL (2 Tbsp. or 1 fl oz) hot water
  1 tsp chicken bouillon powder (cubes or granules) (2 g)
  1 Tbsp. chopped spring onions or scallions, tops and bulbs (2 g)
  ¼ cup Ketocal LQ Unflavored (60 ml)
  ¼ tsp garlic paste (1.5 g)
  ½ tsp olive oil (2 g)
  ¼ cup green pepper, chopped (29g)
  ½ tsp tomato paste (2.75 g)


  1. Place the spring onions, pepper, garlic, tomato puree and oil into a pan and sweat the vegetables on a low heat for 4 minutes 
  2. Dissolve the bouillon in hot water 
  3. Add the stock and canned tomatoes to the vegetables and simmer for 10 minutes
  4. Add the Ketocal LQ to the soup and heat for 1 minute
  5. Blend in a blender until smooth
