KetoCal® Mushroom and Spinach Curry (MAD)

This recipe is for patients following a modified Atkins diet (MAD). MAD should only be done under medical supervision. Always consult with your health care professional to ensure a recipe is appropriate for your prescribed diet. 

Household measurements are based on the USDA values for grams in household measurements. All nutritional values are calculated in ketocalculator using the household measurement’s corresponding gram weight. 

 16.5g 3 tbsp. Ketocal 3:1 powder
 1g ½ tsp curry Powder
 35g ½ cup mushrooms, white, raw, slices or pieces
 12g 1 tbsp. plus 1 tsp chopped Green peppers
 20g 2/3 cup raw spinach leaves
 6g 1 tbsp. spring onions or scallions, tops and bulbs, chopped
 1.3g ¼ tsp tomato paste
 31.6g 2 Tbsp. tomatoes, canned, diced
 1.5g ¼ tsp garlic paste
 4g 1 tsp olive oil


  1. Heat the oil in a pan
  2. Add the mushrooms, pepper, spring onions, tomato paste, garlic paste and heat on a medium temperature for 5 minutes
  3. Add chopped tomatoes, curry powder, spinach and cook for a further 5 minutes on a low heat
  4. Mix the Ketocal powder into the curry and serve
